Welcome! I am Julien Dutto, originally French Software Engineer living in Boston, Massachusetts. I have moved to the USA to take part of greatest implementations a Software Engineer could imagine (this is a teaser, read my work experience for more details!).
My field is Front-end development, where I can fully express myself, with immediate and demonstrative results. You will always find myself providing new ideas and solving issues, while still keeping a pragmatic approach to problems resolution.
My experience in software engineering as well as my soft skills brought me to another field: leadership and management. I am currently managing two teams of Software Engineers, regrouping more than 15 team members.
But that's not all! I also enjoy outdoor activities, which keep me away from my screens. Flying single-engine propellers is my strongest passion. It requires concentration and precision, but gives back great pleasure and adrenaline. I also love capturing moments or landscapes with my camera. You can take a look at my "work" online.
Manager and leader of a mixed developers and functional analysts team (> 15 people), participating to the implementation and migration of our American customer's Central Reservation System (CRS or GRS), Intercontinental Hotels Group.
Our mission is to build our next generation's web-based administration portal, which will enable our customers to efficiently set-up and monitor their reservation system with the best user experience possible.
This represents a major shift in our customer's daily activities, moving them from a 50-years-old "Green screen" system to an entire new Web-based and Cloud-based platform.
Team member involved in the conception and development of the Hotel Call Center, a rich UI application used by Call Center agents to book and modify reservations hosted in amadeus Central Reservation System.
My role then evolved to lead development engineer, including activities such as helping with architecture decisions, newcomers induction or internal/external conference presentations.
Intern in the Research and Development team of Doctissimo, I was in charge of developing Web applications for the new community platform "Community Factory", used on many Lagardere Group websites (doctissimo.fr, elle.fr, be.fr...).
Feasibility study, conception and specifications, development, tests and quality control of the application.
During my scholarship, I decided to use my skills and acquire new ones through my school Junior Entreprise. My role was to analyze requirements, perform cost and solution analysis, present it to our prospects, perform the development and follow-up with maintenance and handover.
I worked on several contracts with customers such as Microsoft, CPAM (French health care), Paris Dauphine University.
